India's 30,093 new Covid-19 cases are lowest daily figure in 4 months

India reported on Tuesday 30,093 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, health ministry data showed, the lowest such figure in four months.India's tally of infections stands at 406,130, the data showed, with the death toll rising by 374.

Covid cases below 30,000 after 125 days, deaths below 400

Daily Covid-19 cases in the country fell below the 30,000 mark on Monday to its lowest count in 125 days while the death toll from the virus dipped to a 111-day low of 373. This was the first time since March 30 that the daily toll from the pandemic had fallen below 400.India reported 29,314 new cases on Monday. The last time the daily count had fallen below 30,000 was on March 16. Cases see a sharp drop every Monday due to lower testing and staff shortages over the weekend. On Sunday, India had recorded 38,574 fresh cases.

Over $157 billion deployed in last 15 months to fight Covid pandemic: World Bank

In its largest-ever crisis response, the World Bank has deployed over $157 billion to fight the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on health, economic and social fronts over the last 15 months.This represents an increase of more than 60 per cent over the 15-month period prior to the pandemic, the bank said on Monday.
